Weekly Wishes

So I'm writing this post Sunday afternoon, and should probably just warn that if Nsync did not perform Bye Bye Bye at the VMAs, I might possibly have spontaneously combusted last night.

But other than that, uh, happy Monday?

And, yeah-yeah, second Weekly Wishes time with Melyssa at the Nectar Collective! Now I can actually give an update on how I did last week.

Which, ugh, is to say I did okay. My goal was to apply for a "good" job (one I have a good chance of hearing back about) each day and I probably did the best on Monday and it sort of tapered off by Friday.

I have faith it'll work out and it's just a matter of time, but I'm pretty over talking about the job situation so I've decreed that none of my goals this week will be related to searching for one.

So without further ado, my goals are:

  • Exercise at least 3 times this week. I've been alternating between the Skinny Bitch body workout and the New York City Ballet exercise and they both kick my ass. But even doing one push-up could probably kick my ass, so that might not be saying much.

  • Post something every day. Which shouldn't be too hard, but just let me have this, okay?! Oh, and I should specify that by "every day," I only mean M-F, because obviously I love handing out empty promises.
  • Get outside more. I moved back to gorgeous Colorado, but I feel like I've barely been doing anything active outside. This should probably change.

Yeah, so, I guess the bottom line is that I need to be more active, period. Something tells me I'm probably going to stay inside working on this here blog or job applications (ugh, I mentioned it) every day, so #3 will probably be the hardest, but it's the thought that counts (no, it isn't).

Anyone else have similar goals?

  1. Hopping over from Melyssa's blog to say hello! :) Firstly, SO glad you mentioned the VMAs. I was pretty excited through all of JT's performance, but the Nsync portion of it left me feeling unsatisfied. It'll never be the same, I guess. ;)

I LOVE that you want to get outside more, where in Colorado did you move? I guess I have some reading to do! If you exercise outside, you're basically killing two birds with one stone. :) Can't wait to hear how this week pans out for you!

  2. I had NO idea that N'Sync got back together but am now going to Google that video and watch it on repeat this morning :) Applying for jobs is the worst but I am also a firm believer that things work out in the end. I also need to get outside more. Especially since I spend most of the day trapped inside of an office. Here's to more daily walks!

  3. When N'Sync came out I'm pretty sure I died, came back to life, punched myself in the face, and then died again. I wish they were on stage longer than 45 seconds though -- how do you only do one song when almost every song they made was a HIT!!

Good luck with all of your goals this week!!

  4. Getting outside more is on my list of Weekly Wishes as well! I really need a little break from technology and this long weekend seems like just the time to do it! PS: I cried when *NSYNC performed. I'm not even a little bit embarrassed...okay, maybe a little. Have a great week!

  5. Haha, it's okay! My rambunctious 4-year-old niece was over and she did.not.understand that we were watching something sacred so she was being super loud during JT's set. So sad! But when the other members appeared, I think that was nothing short of magical.

  6. I know!! It was like the Destiny's Child "reunion" at the Superbowl, where the other members mics weren't as loud and they just kind of danced behind her for a little bit. C'mon Nsync, give the people what they want! (i.e. a reunion tour)

  7. Haha, the actual Nsync reunion is only a blip in Justin's entire performance but I still almost died when all the members appeared! And daily walks would probably be great for my overall health, or even better a daily bicycle ride. Thanks for the comment, Amy!

  8. Hi Amanda! It's funny how different all the Nsyncers look now (I mean, I know Lance is gay, but hello! Yet I never found him attractive in my youth).

And I moved to the Denver area, where I have family. Also, good idea on the exercising outside! I kinda wish I were more into running. Thanks for stopping by!

  9. Applying for jobs is the worst.
    such a rollercoaster of emotions.
I really hope you find something you like, and have likable co-workers.

Posting everyday includes saturday + sunday?! Oh man, I am such a liar too.

  10. Haha, we can just decide it doesn't include the weekend. There, done. And thank you for your well-wishes about finding a job. It really is the worst.

  11. Thank Goodness.

I feel 10 times more productive now.
Hear that world?! Weekends don't count!!!

  12. Haha, I love your conflicting goals, but that is just to add some drama to the mix right? Stay inside/GO OUTSIDE!! I know you can do it, sweet cheeks and if someone doesn't hire you soon I am going to start writing angry letters!

  13. Don't give up yet! I believe there is something out there that is meant for you to sit in!
